Hanwha Life Esports improved to 2-0 on Wednesday with a sweep of CTBC Flying Oyster in the round-robin stage of the 2025 First Stand Tournament in Seoul, South Korea.
Five teams are competing this week in Riot Games’ $1 million League of Legends event, with the winner of Sunday’s grand final taking home $300,000. Following the single round-robin stage (best-of-three matches), the top four teams will move to the knockout stage (best of five).
South Korea’s Woo-je “Zeus” Choi was named the MVP after helping HLE defeat CTBC Flying Oyster in 24 minutes on blue and 28 minutes on red.
Also Wednesday, Karmine Corp posted a 2-0 sweep against Top Esports. Martin “Yike” Sundelin of Sweden and Peru was named MVP for KC after a pair of 32- and 31-minute victories on red.
