Heroic captain Casper “cadiaN” Moller has been benched ahead of the club’s competitive CS2 season, the organization announced Wednesday.
Heroic said the move involving the in-game leader and primary AWPer was a “mutual decision made due to differing visions for the future of the team.”
cadiaN, 28, told Dexerto in a recent interview that change was needed, however “some people wanted a different way.” The Denmark native then took to social media on Wednesday to share his feelings about his four-year stint with Heroic.
“Heroic has been my home for the last 4 years. Those 4 years have not just been career defining, but life changing for me. Big trophies, multiple stints as world number 1, a few clutches here and there, plus many great friendships. Looking back I feel gratitude, pride and I’m leaving with a smile on my face,” he wrote on Twitter. “I want to thank the organization for putting their trust in me throughout my time here. Looking ahead, my time has come for new adventures, and I am feeling very confident about my future.”
Heroic’s roster consists of Denmark natives Martin “stavn” Lund, Rene “TeSeS” Madsen, Rasmus “sjuush” Beck and Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard. Sweden’s Richard “Xizt” Landstrom is the team’s coach.
