MOUZ pulled out a 2-1 win over M80 to advance to the semifinals of the BLAST Open Fall on Friday in London.
G2 Esports also prevailed on the opening day of the event, defeating FaZe Clan 2-0 in a quarterfinal match.
The six-team, $330,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament features a single-elimination bracket. Team Vitality and FURIA were seeded directly into the semifinals, while the remaining teams played in the quarterfinals on Friday.
The Saturday matchups will feature Team Vitality vs. MOUZ and FURIA vs. G2 Esports.
On Friday, MOUZ opened with a 13-10 victory on Ancient before M80 responded to take Mirage 13-9. On the decisive third map, MOUZ cruised to a 13-3 win on Inferno.
Israel’s Lotan “Spinx” Giladi paced MOUZ with 55 kills and a plus-16 kill-death differential. Germany’s Fritz “slaxz-” Dietrich produced 47 kills and a plus-5 K-D differential for M80.
G2 Esports downed FaZe Clan 13-5 on Inferno, then 19-15 in double overtime on Dust II.
Israel’s Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko finished with 45 kills and a plus-17 K-D differential for G2 Esports. Slovakia’s David “frozen” Cernansky wound up with 36 kills and a minus-9 K-D differential for FaZe Clan.
