NetsGC whipped Celtics Crossover Gaming 76-54 on Thursday to complete a perfect run through group play for the NBA 2K League’s The Turn event.
The Nets (6-0) finished atop the Eastern Conference’s Group C. 76ers GC (4-2), Hornets Venom GT (3-3) and Knicks Gaming (2-4) are also headed to the playoffs out of Group C.
The Eastern Conference’s Group D had a tighter battle for three spots after the first-place Gen.G Tigers wound up 5-1 after routing NBL Oz Gaming 69-43 on Thursday.
Raptors Uprising GC, Cavs Legion GC, NBL Oz Gaming and Heat Check Gaming all ended up 3-3, but the Heat missed out on a playoff berth due to an inferior point differential.
The top scorer of the night was Enrique “630” Xavier Barraza, who poured in 36 points for the 76ers in a 76-62 victory over the Celtics.
Ky “Ky” Johnson put up 34 points as the Heat handled Magic Gaming 66-61. Darjean “ReturnOfDJ” Henderson scored 33 points for the Tigers in their victory over the Celtics.
In the night’s other results, the Hornets outscored Hawks Talon GC 91-88, the Wizards District Gaming topped the Raptors 57-51, the Cavs conquered NBL Oz 69-64, the Hornets dumped the Knicks 75-65 and the Raptors downed the Magic 64-56.
The NBA 2K League 5v5 season will include three tournaments — The Tipoff, The Turn and The Ticket — that will set the field for the playoffs, scheduled for Aug. 2-5 in Washington. 76ers GC defeated T-Wolves Gaming to claim The Tipoff earlier in June.
Remote group play in The Turn will establish the bracket for remote bracket play. The event will conclude with in-person tournament play at District E in Washington in late July.
