The Los Angeles Thieves won two lower-bracket matches on Friday in Dallas to stay alive at the Call of Duty League Stage 2 Major.
In the lower-bracket opening round, the Thieves defeated the Miami Heretics 3-1. Los Angeles then swept the Carolina Royal Ravens 3-0.
The Ravens blitzed the Vegas Falcons 3-0 before bowing out.
In the other two first-round matches in the lower bracket, OpTic Texas trounced the Minnesota Rokkr 3-0, and the Toronto Ultra blasted the Los Angeles Guerrillas M8 3-0.
The Stage 2 Major qualifying round included all 12 teams, with each playing seven matches to determine seeding for the double-elimination playoffs, which run through Sunday. The championship team will $150,000.
In their first match of the day, the Thieves fell 232-218 to the Heretics on Vault Hardpoint before claiming Red Card Search and Destroy 6-4, Hacienda Control 6-2 and Hacienda Hardpoint 250-207.
The Thieves then downed the Royal Ravens 250-65 on Vault Hardpoint, 6-1 on Hacienda Search and Destroy and 3-1 on Vault Control.
Carolina got past Vegas 250-172 on Red Card Hardpoint, 6-2 on Red Card Search and Destroy and 3-1 on Protocol Control.
OpTic stopped Minnesota 250-232 on Skyline Hardpoint, 6-2 on Hacienda Search and Destroy and 3-0 on Protocol Control.
The Ultra eliminated the Guerrillas 250-104 on Skyline Hardpoint, 6-5 on Skyline Search and Destroy and 3-0 on Vault Control.
