Ultra remain unbeaten in return from CDL break

The Toronto Ultra were pushed by the Minnesota Rokkr but emerged with a 3-2 win on Friday to remain undefeated in Call of Duty League Stage 1 Major qualifying.

As action resumed following a monthlong hiatus, the Ultra improved to 5-0 while dropping the Rokkr to 2-3.

In the other Friday matches, OpTic Texas defeated the Vegas Falcons 3-1 and the Los Angeles Guerrillas M8 swept Cloud9 New York 3-0.

The 12 CDL teams are competing online for seeding in the Stage 1 Minor, scheduled for Jan. 10-12, and the Stage 1 Major, scheduled for Jan. 30-Feb. 2 in Madrid.

On Friday, Toronto took Protocol Hardpoint 250-185 before Minnesota captured Hacienda Search and Destroy 6-2. The Ultra prevailed 3-2 on Protocol Control, but the Rokkr again replied with a 250-230 win on Vault Hardpoint. On the decisive fifth map, the Ultra won 6-0 on Protocol Search and Destroy.

The Guerrillas rolled over Cloud9 250-190 on Skyline Hardpoint, 6-4 on Skyline Search and Destroy and 3-2 on Hacienda Control.

Optic opened with a 250-179 win on Vault Hardpoint, but Vegas claimed Vault Search and Destroy 6-4. Texas sealed the series by taking Hacienda Control 3-2 and Skyline Hardpoint 250-144.

Three matches are scheduled for Saturday:

–Cloud9 New York vs. Miami Heretics
–Boston Breach vs. Carolina Royal Ravens
