Warriors Gaming Squad continue to build off their 2K League’s title at The Tipoff, improving to 3-0 thanks to a 64-50 win over Kings Gaming Guard on Friday in the third day of group play for The Turn.
Charlie “CB13” Bostic scored a game-high 22 points to help the Warriors hand the Kings (2-1) their first loss of the tournament. Andy “Scoreszn” Fernandez had a team-high 19 points in the loss.
The Turn is the second of three tournaments that lead up to the NBA 2K League 5v5 Playoffs that run June 26-29. Last week, Warriors Gaming Squad won The Tipoff. The Turn runs through June 15, and the final tournament, The Ticket, is on June 18 and 22.
Group play results will determine bracket seeding for The Turn, which carries a $160,000 prize pool.
In another battle of unbeatens Friday, Bucks Gaming topped Pacers Gaming 76-60. Harry “CP” Friedman had 31 points and nine assists to improve the Bucks to 2-0. Ceasar “Ceez” Martinez led the Pacers (2-1) with 17 points.
In the day’s other games, Cavs Legion GC beat Wizards District Gaming 78-68; Celtics Crossover Gaming topped NetsGC 71-61; Raptors Uprising GC crushed Gen.G Tigers 86-59; Heat Check Gaming edged Hornets Venom GT 85-78; Pistons GT turned away DUX Infinitos 79-70; Blazer5 Gaming rolled past Lakers Gaming 89-61; 76ers GC got by NetsGC 87-77; T-Wolves Gaming walloped Mavs Gaming 83-56; and Jazz Gaming blasted Grizz Gaming 87-53.
