Auburn starting quarterback T.J. Finley will miss the Tigers’ SEC opener against Missouri on Saturday due to a shoulder injury, AL.com and On3 reported Tuesday.
Finley completed 11 of 19 passes for 152 yards with one interception last Saturday when the Tigers lost to then-No. 22 Penn State, 41-12.
Robby Ashford replaced Finley for most of the second half, though coach Bryan Harsin told reporters at the time that Finley’s shoulder injury had not “impacted too much of the decision” to sub in Ashford.
Both Finley and Ashford were under constant duress in the loss, as Penn State finished the game with six sacks and nine quarterback hurries.
Auburn (2-1) is likely to start either Ashford or Texas A&M transfer Zach Calzada against Missouri.
Finley, in his second season with Auburn, has gone 33 for 53 for 431 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions through three games this season.
