Myles Colvin made his first 11 shots on his way to obliterating his previous career high with 33 points as Wake Forest rolled to a 111-73 victory over Queens on Sunday in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Omaha Biliew (16 points), Nate Calmese (15) and Juke Harris (14) also thrived in the run-and-gun game as the Demon Deacons (8-3) clinched coach Steve Forbes’ 100th victory in his six seasons at the school.

Colvin’s perfect start, which extended into the second half, included seven 3-pointers. By halftime, Colvin had 26 points, exceeding his previous best of 20 points last year as a sophomore at Purdue.

Colvin shot 11-of-13 overall and 7-of-8 from 3-point range. He made all four of his free throw attempts and added a game-high eight rebounds.

He wasn’t the only Wake Forest player who warmed to the up-tempo pace. Biliew hit 5 of 7 shots, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range. Calmese made 5 of 7 shots, including 3 of 5 from deep.

Wake Forest made 62.1% of its shots and hit 17 of 33 (51.5%) from distance.

Chris Ashby scored 15 points and Avantae Parker added 14 on 6-of-6 shooting for Queens (5-6) of the Atlantic Sun Conference.

The Royals are used to playing pedal to the metal as they had topped the century mark in their previous two games, a pair of wins Friday over South Carolina State and Dec. 3 over Gardner-Webb.

After Queens kept it close for 15 minutes on Sunday, the Demon Deacons outscored the Royals 20-6 over the last 5:05 of the first half.

Colvin scored half of Wake Forest’s points in the run, hitting a pair of 3-pointers and breaking away for a fastbreak slam. Colvin also fed Biliew for a 3-pointer and set up Harris for an alley-oop flush.

When Biliew closed the spree with another trey, it gave the Demon Deacons a 57-39 halftime lead.

Wake Forest continued its blitz in the opening minutes of the second half. Colvin drained a 3-pointer to trigger an 11-0 spree that swelled the Demon Deacons’ lead to 68-39.
