The slumping Atlanta Hawks will have to wait at least another week for the returns of center Kristaps Porzingis and forward Zaccharie Risacher, the team announced Monday.
Both have missed the last five games, Porzingis with left Achilles tendinitis and Risacher with a bone contusion on his left knee. Both will be reevaluated in approximately one week.
The Hawks are 2-3 in their absence, losing their last three games to fall to 20-24 entering Monday’s matinee with the Milwaukee Bucks. Atlanta also has games this week at Memphis on Wednesday and back home against Phoenix on Friday.
Porzingis, 30, is averaging 17.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 17 games (12 starts) in his first season with the Hawks. The former All-Star missed 10 games in December with an illness.
Risacher, 20, is averaging 11.2 points and 3.3 rebounds in 36 games (all starts) in his second season. Atlanta drafted him with the No. 1 overall pick in 2024.
