The new indoor tech-infused WTGL announced its first five players ahead of its debut next winter.

The WTGL is the women’s version of the men’s TGL which made its debut last year with some of the top stars on the PGA Tour and currently is in its second season.

World No. 1 Jeno Thitikul of Thailand will compete in the first season of the WTGL, while England’s Charley Hull (No. 5 in the world), New Zealand’s Lydia Ko (No. 6), Canada’s Brooke Henderson (No. 25) and Lexi Thompson (No. 79) also were named.

Thitikul has seven career LPGA tournament victories and has been ranked No. 1 since August. Hull has three victories and is a seven-time member of Europe’s Solheim Cup team, while Ko has 23 wins, including three in majors. Henderson had 14 LPGA victories and two in majors, while Thompson is an 11-time winner with one major.

“WTGL will be a global stage to showcase LPGA stars, and this first wave of committed players represents that opportunity with some of the world’s best,” Mike McCarley, the founder and CEO of TMRW Sports said in a release. “These players will thrive in WTGL’s competitive environment as fans will witness their skill and connect more deeply with their personalities through the unprecedented access the league delivers with every player mic’d in the modern match play team format.”

TMRW started the TGL, which was formed in partnership with Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. The TGL consists of six teams with four players each competing on an indoor golf simulator at Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. A seventh team will be added in 2027. Teams compete head-to-head, leading to a single champion.
