Claude Giroux scored the go-ahead goal in the third period, and the visiting Ottawa Senators won their fourth straight, 3-2, against the host Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday.

Tim Stutzle had a goal and an assist and Drake Batherson had two assists for the Senators. Linus Ullmark made 14 saves.

Egor Chinakhov had a goal and an assist, and Arturs Silovs made 28 saves for the Penguins, who had their six-game winning streak snapped.

Giroux made it 3-2 Ottawa at 14:52. After Stutzle batted a pass over to him inside the zone, he took it to the net with Erik Karlsson on his back.

Karlsson got his stick in Giroux’s feet, causing him to lose his balance and propelling him and the puck to slide into Silovs and into the net, which pushed the net off its moorings.

Officials reviewed the play and determined the puck crossed the goal line before the net was dislodged. Pittsburgh challenged for goalie interference, but the call stood after review.

Chinakhov gave the Penguins a 1-0 lead at 7:57 of the opening frame. Evgeni Malkin carried the puck down the right side before dishing a feed to Chinakhov in the slot, where he fired a quick shot that beat Ullmark through the pads.

Michael Amadio tied it 1-1 at 1:35 of the second period. His shot from the left circle was blocked by Connor Clifton and gathered by Malkin, but Amadio stripped him of it in the slot and put a wrist shot by Silovs’ left arm.

Stutzle capitalized on a bad line change by the Penguins to put the Senators ahead 2-1 at 6:46 of the third period. Silovs got a piece of Drake Batherson’s shot from in close, but the puck landed on the doorstep and Stutzle, following up on the play, backhanded it by the goalie’s glove.

Tommy Novak tied it 2-2 just over two minutes later. Ullmark got his blocker on Ryan Shea’s shot from the right circle, but it was directed right to Novak, who was in the crease to sweep it in at 8:48.
