Obi Agbim knocked down two clutch 3-pointers and had a layup in the final 2:31 to lift Baylor to a 73-68 victory over Arizona State on Saturday afternoon in Waco, Texas.

Agbim finished his day with 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 4-of-6 from deep, to help Baylor (14-13, 4-10 Big 12) snap a four-game skid. Tounde Yessoufou also had 16 points for the Bears, who improved to 7-0 against the Sun Devils under Scott Drew.

Arizona State (14-13, 5-9) saw its two-game winning streak end. The Sun Devils were led by reserve Anthony Johnson’s 20 points. Maurice Odum finished with 12 points, while Massamba Diop had 10 points and 10 rebounds and Allen Mukeba scored 10.

With the game tied 61-all with 3:23 left, Baylor went on a 5-0 spurt, taking a 66-61 lead on a 3 by Agbim with 2:31 left. The Bears didn’t trail after that.

ASU cut the deficit to 68-67 with 1:40 left when a steal by Johnson led to a fastbreak layup by Odum. Baylor answered 22 seconds later when Agbim rattled in a 3 from the top of the key off an inbounds pass.

The game featured 13 lead changes and eight ties.

Arizona State created separation late in the first half. The Sun Devils went on an 8-0 run to take a 35-27 lead with just over three minutes left and went on to lead 40-32 at the break.

However, Baylor opened the second half on a 14-4 run, taking a 46-44 lead on a jumper by Williams with just over 13 minutes left. It was a tight battle after that until Baylor pushed ahead for good in the final minutes.

Other contributors for the Bears included Isaac Williams, who had 14 points and five assists; Cameron Carr, who added 13 points; and Caden Powell, who had eight points and seven rebounds.

Both teams return to action Tuesday. Baylor hosts No. 4 Arizona, while Arizona State travels to TCU.
