Pavel Dorofeyev scored two goals and also had an assist as the Vegas Golden Knights snapped a three-game losing streak with a 6-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night in Las Vegas.

Mitch Marner and Jack Eichel each had a goal and an assist, Colton Sissons and Brayden McNabb also scored and Braeden Bowman had two assists for Vegas.

Adin Hill made 24 saves for the Golden Knights, who moved into sole possession of second place and to within one point of first-place Anaheim in the Pacific Division.

Rickard Rakell and Ben Kindel scored goals and Ryan Shea had two assists for Pittsburgh, which suffered its fifth loss in six games (1-3-2). Arturs Silovs finished with 11 saves.

Vegas jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 8:41 mark of the first period when Sissons drove the net and shoveled in a Bowman pass five-hole for his 100th career goal.

Dorofeyev, alone by the right post, made it 2-0 early in the second period when he roofed a crossing pass from Kaedan Korczak.

Rakell cut the lead to 2-1 midway through the period when he deflected a crossing pass from Bryan Rust into the top left corner of the net.

The Golden Knights answered just 54 seconds later on a highlight-reel goal by Marner who, while falling while crossing in front of the crease, lifted a shot over Silovs’ left pad.

Kindel cut the lead to 3-2 near the end of the period when he tipped Anthony Mantha’s pass from along the left boards inside the right post.

Vegas then broke the game open with two goals in a 1:45 span early in the third period to increase its lead to 5-2.

Dorofeyev got the first at the end of a 3-on-1 rush, one-timing a Marner pass from above the hash marks into the top right corner for his team-leading 32nd goal. Eichel followed with a wrist shot from the high slot over Silov’s right shoulder, increasing his goal streak to three games.

Pittsburgh pulled Silovs for an extra attacker with 7:39 to go and McNabb, after Vegas failed on a handful of empty-net attempts, including a goalie-goal try by Hill, sealed the win with an empty-netter with 58.7 seconds left.
