Andy Pages delivered a home run among his three hits, Eric Lauer gave up one hit over six scoreless innings and the Los Angeles Dodgers finished off a 4-2 victory over the visiting Seattle Mariners on Wednesday.

Freddie Freeman and Shohei Ohtani also drove in runs as the Dodgers avenged a loss to the Mariners in the series opener, while improving to 7-4 since the end of the All-Star break.

Los Angeles improved to 9-0 in games Lauer has appeared in after the left-hander was acquired in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays in May. Lauer (6-5) is 5-0 with a 2.96 ERA for the Dodgers.

Cole Young had two hits and an RBI for the Mariners, who hit five home runs Tuesday to show signs their offensive funk might be behind them, but regressed one day later. Seattle is now 2-6 since July 21 and 2-4 on its seven-game road trip.

Emerson Hancock (6-5) gave up three runs on eight hits over five innings for the Mariners with five strikeouts.

The Dodgers took a 1-0 lead in the opening inning when Pages hit a home run down the left-field line as the No. 2 hitter. It was his 18th of the season but just his second in 22 July games.

Freeman made it 2-0 in the third inning when his broken-bat RBI single followed singles from Ohtani and Pages.

Los Angeles added another run in the fourth inning when Pages singled off the glove of Mariners third baseman Weston Wilson after Ohtani was walked intentionally to load the bases.

The Dodgers made it 4-0 in the sixth inning when an Ohtani double to left-center field scored Dalton Rushing from first base.

Cole Young gave the Mariners their first run with an RBI single against left-hander Tanner Scott in the eighth inning.

Before the game, Los Angeles returned right-handed closer Edwin Diaz (elbow) from the injured list and he pitched the ninth inning, allowing a Josh Naylor RBI double before recording his fifth save, the first since April 7.
