Hurts, Tua hurdle Lawrence in Heisman odds

Trevor Lawrence
Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

With five interceptions in No. 1 Clemson’s first three games, Trevor Lawrence has slipped behind fellow quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa of Alabama, Jalen Hurts of Oklahoma and Joe Burrow of LSU in the latest Heisman Trophy betting odds.

Lawrence is now listed at 7-1 by Westgate Las Vegas Superbook, trailing front-runner Tagovailoa (2-1), Hurts (4-1) and Burrow (9-2). Ohio State QB Justin Fields is next at 8-1.

FanDuel Sportsbook currently lists Lawrence at +700, trailing best bets Hurts, Tagovailoa and Burrow, who are all at +500. Fields and Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm are next at +1000.

Lawrence passed for 395 yards and three touchdowns in last weekend’s 41-6 win at Syracuse, but also threw his fourth and fifth picks.

Tagovailoa has 12 TD passes and zero interceptions and Hurts has fired nine touchdowns and no picks. Burrow, who opened at Westgate as a 300-to-1 longshot, has an 11-to-2 TD-to-INT ratio and leads the nation with an 83.3 completion percentage.
