Washington State coach Mike Leach ripped his “fat, dumb, happy and entitled” players following Saturday night’s 38-13 loss to No. 19 Utah in Salt Lake City.
The Cougars were outgained 526 yards to 313, committed two turnovers and were penalized nine times for 66 yards. The Utes finished the game with 24 unanswered points.
“It’s difficult to say how tough Utah is because they had token resistance on both sides of the ball from us,” Leach said after the game.
“We’re a very soft team. We get a lot of good press. We like to read it a lot. We like to pat ourselves on the back and if we get any resistance, we fold.”
Washington State (3-2, 0-2 Pac-12) will try to snap its two-game losing streak next Saturday at Arizona State (4-1, 1-1).
