As he prepares to defend his U.S. Open title this week at Oakmont Country Club, Bryson DeChambeau has a new contract on his mind as his current deal worth a reported $125 million is set to expire in 2026.
“We’re looking to negotiate end of this year, and I’m very excited,” DeChambeau said. “They see the value in me. I see the value in what they can provide, and I believe we’ll come to some sort of resolution on that.”
DeChambeau also has faith in LIV Golf’s future, in particular the team he captains, Crushers GC.
“I think that LIV is not going anywhere,” he said. “(Saudi Arabian crown prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud) has been steadfast in his belief on team golf, and whether everybody believes in it or not, I think it’s a viable option. I think it’s a viable commercial option. Our team has been EBITDA positive for the past two years, so we’re starting to grow and move in the right direction, just like TGL.”
As for his portfolio, DeChambeau has bounced back from losing sponsors after leaving the PGA Tour in 2022 for LIV Golf, with his whole team being sponsored by Reebook.
“It’s almost freeing in a way, and it kind of was a reset to see who wanted to be around and who wanted to continue to support,” said DeChambeau, who is at the forefront of Reebok’s return to the sport.
“I think it’s actually been a great thing, and from a sponsorship perspective, we’re starting to move now,” he added. “We’ve got a lot of great revenue coming about, and probably in a year from now, I hope to unveil some incredible master plans of what we’re going to do with the Crushers and whatnot. There’s some exciting stuff down the line.”
Since leaving the PGA Tour, DeChambeau — who won the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst and contended at the past two Masters and the past two PGA Championship — has also seen his popularity grow by leaps and and bounds, attracting more than two million subscribers to his YouTube channel.
“I’ve got a team behind me,” he said. “We’ve grown our channel … and couldn’t be more thankful.”
DeChambeau also won the U.S. Open in 2020 at Winged Foot.
