Newly appointed Smash GC captain Talor Gooch agreed to a three-year extension with LIV Golf, Front Office Sports reported.
Gooch’s initial four-year contract expired after the 2025 season. He has won four individual titles and earned more than $50 million since joining the circuit.
Gooch, 34, was elevated to captain following Brooks Koepka’s departure last week. Still being determined is what will happen to Koepka’s 25% equity stake in Smash GC. The league’s original structure gave its player-captains 25% ownership in their teams, with LIV Golf owning the rest.
“I am incredibly honored and excited to officially take on the captaincy role for the 2026 season,” Gooch said in a statement last week. “I’m excited and ready to embrace this new leadership and career challenge.”
Smash GC finished fourth out of 13 teams in the 2025 standings to earn a $4 million team bonus.
With Koepka’s exit, Gooch’s team has a vacancy to fill alongside teammates Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell before the 2026 season begins in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Feb. 4.
