Denver Broncos owner Rob Walton is a part of an ownership group for Motor City Golf Club, the fourth WTGL women’s golf franchise which was announced on Wednesday ahead of the inaugural season this fall.

The Detroit-based franchise is helmed by principals Michael Hamp, Peter Hamp and Kevin Kelleher. The ownership group also includes Jordan Rose Walton, Kit Hawkins and Vansa Chatikavanij of Present Ventures as well as technology and sports entrepreneur Kal Somani, among others.

The group also owns the Motor City Golf Club men’s TGL franchise which will become that league’s seventh franchise this upcoming season.

“Detroit is one of America’s greatest sports cities, and our fans have welcomed and shown early excitement for Motor City Golf Club as we build toward our TGL debut,” Michael Hamp said in a statement. “Our goal with Motor City Golf Club from the start was to be a club and team for everyone who loves our city and loves golf. Joining WTGL to help create a world-class platform for women’s team golf is an exciting and obvious next chapter for our ownership group.”

TGL was launched in 2025 by TMRW Sports, which was founded by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Mike McCarley.

The three previously announced WTGL franchises are owned by Alexis Ohanian (Los Angeles Golf Club), Arthur M. Blank and AMB Sports and Entertainment (Atlanta Drive Golf Club) and Steve Cohen and Cohen Private Ventures (New York Golf Club), all of whom also own TGL franchises.

The WTGL roster currently includes 14 committed players, five of whom are ranked in the top 11 in the Rolex Women’s Golf rankings in No. 2 Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand, No. 4 Charley Hull and No. 7 Lottie Woad of England, ninth-ranked Minjee Lee of Australia and 11th-ranked Lydia Ko of New Zealand.

Full rosters and the schedule for the inaugural season will be announced in the coming months. Teams do not play in their designated cities but contest matches in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
