New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge exited Tuesday’s game against the visiting Baltimore Orioles after being hit in the left hand by a pitch.
In the third inning, Judge was hit in the area around his pinky finger and knuckles by a 1-2 fastball from Baltimore starter Albert Suarez and initially stayed in the game. He slid in at third base on a single by Alex Verdugo and scored on a base hit by Giancarlo Stanton.
After scoring New York’s second run, Judge headed to the clubhouse. Judge came out to play center field for the top of the fourth but was lifted for Trent Grisham in the bottom half when his spot in the lineup came up.
After a slow start to the year, Judge is batting .302 with major league bests of 26 homers, 64 RBIs and 57 walks in 74 games.
