Major league home run leader Aaron Judge and Yankees newcomer Jazz Chisholm Jr. each hit two homers and drove in three runs as New York demolished the host Philadelphia Phillies 14-4 on Monday.

Ben Rice and Anthony Volpe added a homer and single apiece for the Yankees, who took the opener of a three-game series for their third victory in a row. Austin Wells hit a two-run triple while Juan Soto doubled twice, singled and knocked in three runs.

Yankees starter Luis Gil (11-5) lasted 5 1/3 innings and allowed three runs on five hits with eight strikeouts and three walks.

Brandon Marsh hit a home run, single and drove in two runs for the Phillies, who fell to 3-7 since the All-Star break. Bryson Stott added two hits, and Kyle Schwarber drew three walks.

Phillies starter Zack Wheeler (10-5) gave up seven runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and three walks in five innings.

The Yankees went ahead 1-0 two outs into the first inning when Judge crushed a hanging slider by Wheeler for a solo home run into the seats in left field.

Chisholm hit a solo homer to left for a 2-0 advantage in the second. It was Chisholm’s first home run since the Yankees acquired him from the Miami Marlins on Saturday. Rice added a solo homer in the second to extend the lead to 3-0.

Nick Castellanos opened the bottom of the third with a single to center for the Phillies’ first hit. Trea Turner eventually drove in a run with a fielder’s-choice grounder to close the hosts within 3-1.

In the fourth, Marsh launched a solo home run to right to cut the deficit to 3-2.

The Yankees took a 7-2 advantage in the fifth when Soto hit a two-run double to right and Wells added a two-run triple.

Marsh contributed an RBI single in the sixth to close Philadelphia within 7-3, knocking Gil from the game.

Judge blasted a two-run shot to left field in the seventh for a 9-3 lead. He increased his season total to 39 home runs.

Volpe’s two-run homer and Soto’s RBI double in the eighth gave the Yankees a 12-4 advantage.

Chisholm ripped a two-run homer off position player Garrett Stubbs in the ninth for a 14-4 lead.
