Spencer Schwellenbach threw the first complete game of his career and Ronald Acuna Jr. went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs to help the visiting Atlanta Braves post a 6-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday afternoon.

Schwellenbach (5-4) allowed just two earned runs on five hits while striking out nine and walking none as he became the first Atlanta pitcher this season to notch a complete game. The Braves won two of three in Milwaukee — marking Atlanta’s first series win since taking two of three from the Boston Red Sox from May 16-18.

Chad Patrick (3-6) surrendered five earned runs on seven hits across five innings, striking out eight and walking three for the Brewers, who dropped their third game in four tries. Rhys Hoskins hit a solo home run for Milwaukee, which mustered two runs or fewer for the fourth time in its last six games.

The Braves struck first in the top of the second as Marcell Ozuna’s leadoff walk was followed by Michael Harris II’s one-out homer — his fifth of the season. Patrick later walked Nick Allen and allowed Acuna’s single before Drake Baldwin extended Atlanta’s lead to 3-0 with an RBI base hit to left.

Hoskins got one of those runs back for Milwaukee in the bottom of the second as he began the frame with his 10th home run of the year.

Allen’s single in the fourth was followed by Acuna’s 416-foot home run to push Atlanta’s advantage to 5-1.

Nick Mears threw a perfect top of the sixth in relief of Patrick before Easton McGee entered in the seventh for Milwaukee. McGee walked Austin Riley and allowed Matt Olson’s single, then inducing Ozuna into a double play. Ozzie Albies then delivered another insurance run, driving in Riley with a single to center.

The Brewers cut their deficit to four in the eighth when Sal Frelick scored on Eric Haase’s two-out double to left.
