Right-hander Carlos F. Rodriguez, the Milwaukee Brewers’ No. 6 prospect per MLB.com, will make his major league debut Tuesday night against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays.
Rodriguez, 22, has twice been named the organization’s Minor League Pitcher of the Year and is 4-5 with a 5.17 ERA in 12 games (11 starts) this season at Triple-A Nashville.
A native of Nicaragua, Rodriguez — the Brewers’ sixth-round pick in 2021 — is 19-16 with a 3.41 ERA in 64 games (57 starts) in four seasons in the minors. He has struck out 353 batters in 298 2/3 innings.
Rodriguez is filling in for rookie left-hander Robert Gasser, who is seeking a third opinion on his throwing elbow.
