Christian Encarnacion-Strand doubled to center in the bottom of the 10th inning to drive in Tyler Stephenson and give the Cincinnati Reds a 4-3 win against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday afternoon.

The game was suspended with the score tied 3-3 after six innings on Friday night because of rain.

Cincinnati came in 0-5 in extra innings this season and has been outscored 12-0 in those losses.

Ryan Thompson (1-2) started the 10th on the mound for Arizona with Stephenson on second base. Spencer Steer could not lay down a sacrifice bunt and then struck out, but Encarnacion-Strand hit a line drive that fell just in front of diving center fielder Alek Thomas.

Encarnacion-Strand had three hits, two RBIs and a run scored.

The Diamondbacks had runners on the corners and one out in the 10th off Tony Santillan (1-1), but the right-hander bounced back to strike out Ildemaro Vargas and Tim Tawa.

Juan Morillo took the mound for the Diamondbacks when the game resumed and he walked three of the first four batters before he was replaced by Jalen Beeks, who struck out Encarnacion-Strand before knocking down a comebacker from Jose Trevino and throwing out the slow-footed catcher to end the inning.

Beeks then retired the side in the eighth, including a fly out to center by Elly De La Cruz, who pinch-hit for Will Benson after being unavailable for the start of Friday’s game because he was delayed in returning from his sister’s funeral in the Dominican Republic.

Thompson pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for Arizona.

Graham Ashcraft pitched a scoreless seventh and eighth and Emilio Pagan pitched a clean ninth for the Reds.

Ketel Marte and Geraldo Perdomo hit back-to-back homers in the three-run third inning on Friday and Tawa finished with three hits and scored a run for Arizona, which had won four in a row.

TJ Friedl and Encarnacion-Strand homered, and Jose Trevino had two hits for the Reds, who had lost four of five.
