Cole Young’s broken-bat bloop single to left field brought home the winning run with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Seattle Mariners defeated the visiting New York Mets 3-2 on Monday.

Rookie Colt Emerson and Josh Naylor hit solo homers for the American League West-leading Mariners, who won their seventh consecutive game.

Jared Young and Marcus Semien went deep for the Mets, whose four-game winning streak came to an end.

Mariners reliever Gabe Speier (1-2) retired the side in order in the top of the 10th.

In the bottom half, automatic runner Randy Arozarena stole third as A.J. Minter struck out Patrick Wisdom. Cole Young, whose two singles were the only hits that didn’t leave the yard by either team, then delivered the walk-off.

Mariners starter Emerson Hancock retired the first 12 batters he faced before Jared Young led off the fifth with a drive deep to left-center field on a 3-1 fastball.

Hancock also fell behind in the count to Semien leading off the sixth before the veteran launched a 3-2 fastball into Edgar’s Cantina between the first and second decks in left field.

Those were the only two hits allowed by Hancock over six innings. The right-hander didn’t walk a batter and struck out seven.

The Mets gave right-hander Austin Warren his first career start as an opener before turning to veteran left-hander Sean Manaea after Warren hit Arozarena with a pitch leading off the second. Arozarena stole second and Cole Young walked before Manaea got Rob Refsnyder to ground into an inning-ending double play.

Emerson, the Mariners’ prized rookie, homered to right with one out in the third.

That was the only hit and run Manaea allowed in five innings as a bulk reliever. He walked one and fanned four.

The Mets brought in fellow lefty Brooks Raley in the seventh, and he was greeted by Naylor’s blast to right on a 3-2 sweeper that stayed over the middle of the plate.
