Seiya Suzuki hit a two-run homer to cap an eight-run sixth inning, Jameson Taillon tossed seven innings of one-run ball and the visiting Chicago Cubs erupted for a 14-1 win over the Miami Marlins on Tuesday.

Suzuki added a two-run double in the Cubs’ five-run ninth inning against position player Javier Sanoja and finished with three hits and four RBIs. Chicago outhit the Marlins 21-6 and won for the sixth time in its last eight games.

Kyle Tucker went 3-for-4 with a solo homer, Nico Hoerner and Michael Busch each drove in two runs and Justin Turner had three hits. Carson Kelly, Dansby Swanson, Pete Crow-Armstrong and Matt Shaw each had two hits.

Taillon (3-3) allowed four hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

Nick Fortes homered and Kyle Stowers had two hits for Miami, which opened the three-game series with an 8-7 walk-off victory on Monday.

Ryan Weathers recorded two quick outs to begin the game before Tucker deposited a 3-1 fastball into the right-center field seats for his 11th homer of the season.

Fortes tied the game with his first homer this season, a 399-foot solo shot with one out in the third inning.

Weathers was pulled after holding the Cubs to one run on five hits over five innings. He struck out four and did not allow a walk while throwing 80 pitches.

After Weathers departed, Chicago scored eight runs on eight hits while sending 12 batters to the plate in the sixth inning.

The Cubs began the rally by loading the bases against Calvin Faucher (2-2), who allowed consecutive singles to Tucker and Kelly after Suzuki drew a leadoff walk. Swanson followed with a run-scoring single.

Faucher was replaced by Lake Bachar after giving up back-to-back RBI singles to Crow-Armstrong and Hoerner.

After another run scored on Turner’s sacrifice fly, Shaw doubled in a run before Suzuki came back to the plate with two outs and capped the rally with a two-run homer to center field.

The 405-foot blast was Suzuki’s 12th homer of the season and third in his last eight games.

Chicago led 9-1 before scoring five runs on six hits against Sanoja in the ninth inning. Ian Happ singled in a run with two outs, Suzuki followed with a two-run double and pinch hitter Busch delivered a two-run double.
