Pinch-hitter Adrian Del Castillo singled in the go-ahead run in a two-run eighth inning and the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied to beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 in the rubber game of the three-game series Sunday.

Corbin Carroll, James McCann and rookie Jose Fernandez had two hits apiece for the Diamondbacks, who have won four of five on an East Coast trip that continues Monday in Baltimore.

Trea Turner had two hits, including his first homer, and Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper and Brandon Marsh also had two hits for the Phillies, who have lost four of five.

Carroll beat out an infield single to open the eighth off Jose Alvarado (0-1) and was forced at second on Geraldo Perdomo’s bunt. Perdomo stole second and scored on Fernandez’s single to tie the game at 3-3. Fernandez extended his hitting streak to five games.

Pinch-hitter Ketel Marte walked off Jonathan Bowlan before Del Castillo singled in Fernandez.

The Phillies put runners on first and third in their eighth on a walk and Marsh’s single off Kevin Ginkel. After a strikeout, Ryan Thompson entered and got Adolis Garcia to pop out. Marsh, running on the play, was easily doubled off first to complete the double play.

Paul Sewald pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his fifth save, the last coming on a called strike that was upheld after a challenge. Taylor Clark (1-0) pitched a scoreless seventh.

Andrew Painter, the second Phillies’ pitcher, gave up two hits and one run in five innings, with seven strikeouts and a walk. The scheduled starter, Painter did not open because of a migraine headache, the Phillies announced, before entering in the third.

Zach Pop started and gave up one run and three hits over two innings.

Arizona starter Zac Gallen gave up three runs on eight hits, with two strikeouts and one walk.

Gallen had given up three singles in five scoreless innings before the Phillies opened the sixth with five straight hits, four for extra-bases, to take a 3-2 lead.

Justin Crawford doubled to lead off the sixth and scored on Turner’s first homer of the season, a ball that just got over the fence in right. The hit originally was ruled a double before being overturned by a replay review.

Schwarber doubled and scored on Harper’s double off the right-field fence, and Marsh dropped a single to center to put runners on first and third and knock out Gallen. Harper was thrown out attempting to score on a grounder to second and Jonathan Loaisiga got two fly outs to end the inning.

Arenado singled and scored on James McCann’s one-out double for a 1-0 lead in the second off Pop.

Ildemaro Vargas opened the sixth with a double and Carroll drew Painter’s only walk. Fernandez’s one-out single loaded the bases and Arenado hit a sacrifice fly for a 2-0 lead.
