Eleven people were injured due to an escalator malfunction following the Milwaukee Brewers’ 5-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs at American Family Field on Saturday.
The malfunction resulted in “an increased downward speed,” according to a release sent out by the team. Five people were treated for their injuries at the ballpark, while six others were transported to local-area hospitals.
The team described all injuries as “non-life threatening.”
“After the conclusion of today’s game, an escalator at American Family Field moving fans from the terrace to loge level malfunctioned,” the team statement read in part. “Our onsite physician and EMS were on the scene immediately, and we are appreciative of their quick response.”
