Jo Adell robbed three Mariners of homers and Zach Neto hit a leadoff homer in the first to lead the Los Angeles Angels to a 1-0 victory over Seattle on Saturday night at Anaheim, Calif.

Adell robbed Cal Raleigh in the first inning, Josh Naylor in the eighth and J.P. Crawford in the ninth with stellar grabs in right field as the Angels won for just the second time in the past seven games.

Jack Kochanowicz (1-0) allowed four hits over 5 2/3 scoreless innings for Los Angeles. He struck out seven and walked two.

Jordan Romano retired three straight batters in the ninth for his third save, but Adell earned the real save with a stellar theft of Crawford’s drive near the right-field foul pole. He leaped to catch the ball and fell over the short wall into the stands, only to emerge and lift his glove to show he had caught the ball.

Seattle challenged the play and it was upheld before Romano retired Cole Young on a pop fly and struck out Leo Rivas to end it.

Neto hit the fourth pitch in the bottom of the first from Emerson Hancock (1-1) over the wall in left center. The fastball carried 443 feet for his 10th career leadoff homer.

Adell conducted his first robbery against Raleigh when he jumped high above the wall in right to make the snag and keep the game scoreless.

Cal Raleigh is homerless through nine games after smashing 60 last season.

It was a similar repeat in the eighth when Naylor’s drive off Sam Bachmann threatened to knot the score. Adell again leaped to make the catch.

Neto had two of Los Angeles’ seven hits.

Julio Rodriguez had two hits for Seattle, which had five overall while falling for the third time in the past four games.

Hancock gave up one run and six hits over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out five and walked none.

Eduard Bazardo replaced Hancock and gave up singles to Adell and Josh Lowe to put runners on the corner before retiring Logan O’Hoppe on a fly to left.

Kochanowicz retired the last seven batters he faced before Joey Lucchesi entered to get the final out of the sixth.

Lucchesi walked Crawford and hit Young with a pitch to start the seventh before Chase Silseth entered and struck out two straight hitters before retiring Raleigh on a grounder to end the frame.

Bachman gave up a two-out single to Randy Arozarena in the eighth before Drew Pomeranz came on and retired Rob Refsnyder on a grounder.
