JJ Wetherholt singled in two runs with one out in the 10th inning to lift the host St. Louis Cardinals to a 6-5 over the Tampa Bay Rays Saturday.

Jordan Walker started off the inning with a walk on four straight pitches to put runners on first and second.

Victor Scott II moved the runners over with a perfect sacrifice bunt.

Wetherholt then grounded the first pitch he saw into right field for his first career walkoff hit.

Griffin Jax (0-1) took the loss by blowing the save in the 10th.

Cardinals closer Ryne Stanek (1-0) picked up the win despite blowing the save in the ninth and giving up the go-ahead run in the 10th.

Yandy Diaz singled in Ben Williamson on the first pitch of the 10th inning to give Tampa a 5-4 lead.

After trailing 0-4, the Rays scored four times in the ninth to force extra innings.

Jonathan Aranda led off with a single and Caminero walked with one out.

Aranda scored when Chandler Simpson reached on an infield single and an error.

Carson Williams singled off Stanek to score Caminero and Simpson to make it 4-3.

Nick Fortes tied the game by singling in Williams.

Cardinals starter Michael McGreevy threw six no-hit innings, walked two and struck out five in 96 pitches, 57 of which were strikes.

Rays starter Joe Boyle gave up three hits in the six innings. The right-hander allowed two earned runs and struck out four on 75 pitches.

The Cardinals did all their damage to Boyle with three hits in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead.

Boyle threw 26 pitches in the first inning, but then settled down to retire 16 straight Cardinals.

St. Louis didn’t have another base runner until Ramon Urias doubled off Cole Sulser with one out in the seventh inning.

The Cardinals scored a pair of insurance runs in the eighth off reliever Sulser.

Walker drew a leadoff walk and went to second when Scott reached on an error.

Scott laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt, but Rays catcher Fortes dropped the ball.

Ivan Herrera then drove a double to left field to score Walker.

Burleson made it a four-run cushion with a deep fly out to center to score Scott.
