Kyle Schwarber leads Phillies over hapless White Sox

Phillies, White Sox

Kyle Schwarber homered, hit a sacrifice fly, walked three times, scored three runs and drove in two more to lift the host Philadelphia Phillies past the Chicago White Sox 8-2 on Sunday.

Alec Bohm added three hits and an RBI and Bryce Harper had a single and two RBI for the hot Phillies, who swept their second straight series for six wins in a row.

Johan Rojas contributed two hits.

Phillies starter Aaron Nola (3-1) tossed eight innings and allowed four hits and two runs with seven strikeouts and one walk.

Eloy Jimenez homered and knocked in two runs for the White Sox, who fell to 3-18 for the worst 21-game start in franchise history. The White Sox managed four total hits.

White Sox starter Nick Nastrini (0-2) gave up six hits and six runs (five earned) with three strikeouts and five walks in just his second career start.

Schwarber lofted an RBI sacrifice fly to left for an 8-2 advantage in the seventh inning.

The White Sox went ahead 2-0 in the first inning when Jimenez ripped a two-run home run to left-center field. It was the first extra-base hit of the season for Jimenez.

In the bottom of the first, Schwarber and Trea Turner each walked and Harper followed with an RBI single to center. The Phillies then took a 3-2 lead as Turner scored on a throwing error by Lenyn Sosa and Harper crossed on an RBI single by Brandon Marsh.

The Phillies loaded the bases with one out in the third and Nick Castellanos flied out to shallow center. Bryson Stott then flied out to right to end the threat.

Turner hit an RBI single in the fourth for a 10-game hitting streak. Harper responded with an RBI sacrifice fly and one out later, Bohm dropped in an RBI double for a 6-2 advantage.

Robbie Grossman struck out looking with a runner on first to end the top of the top of the fifth for Chicago.

Schwarber crushed a solo home run to the second deck in right for a 7-2 lead in the sixth.
