Mariners’ Dylan Moore agrees to 3-year contract extension

Seattle Mariners utilityman Dylan Moore agreed to a three-year contract extension that runs through 2025, the team announced Wednesday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, however MLB.com reported that it is worth $8.875 million with escalators that could elevate the value to $9 million.

Moore, 30, has been a Swiss army knife for the Mariners, playing every position except catcher in his four-year career. He’s mostly been used in left field (110 appearances) and second base (106). He even pitched one inning in 2019.

“Dylan has been a big contributor to our team over the past four seasons,” said Justin Hollander, Mariners executive vice president and general manager of baseball operations.

“His defensive versatility, athleticism, proficiency both on the bases and with the bat versus left-handed pitching, are key elements to how our roster works. As such, we are thrilled that we were able to work out a deal that recognizes the importance of the role he plays.”

Moore hit .224 with six home runs, 24 RBIs and 21 stolen bases in 2022. He’s a career .208 hitter with 35 home runs, 140 runs and 65 stolen bases.
