Max Muncy hit a two-run home run in support of Justin Wrobleski as the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers held on for a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday.

Muncy’s fourth-inning blast off Zack Wheeler (10-2) provided enough offense for Wrobleski (11-2), who allowed one run and five hits in 6 1/3 innings. The All-Star left-hander walked one and struck out seven in lowering his ERA to 2.62.

The Phillies had runners on second and third with one out in the ninth against Tanner Scott. Brandon Marsh hit a grounder to third that resulted in Justin Crawford getting tagged out in a rundown between third and home, and then J.T. Realmuto — who was already on third — retreated towards second and was thrown out to end the game.

Wheeler allowed two runs and five hits in seven innings, striking out nine without a walk. Alec Bohm had three hits and an RBI for Philadelphia.

Wheeler pitched a 1-2-3 first inning, setting the stage for his teammates to plate a run in the bottom half. After Wrobleski retired the first two hitters, Bryce Harper doubled and scored on Bohm’s base hit to left.

Los Angeles nearly tied the game in the third inning, as Shohei Ohtani singled with Eliezer Alfonzo on second and two outs. However, Ohtani was thrown out trying to stretch the hit into a double with the tag coming just before Alfonzo touched home plate.

The Dodgers eventually got on the scoreboard one inning later, as Muncy’s 19th homer of the season landed in the center field shrubbery.

The Phillies put their leadoff hitter on in the fourth and fifth innings, but Wrobleski limited the damage both times. They also threatened with a one-out double from Bohm in the sixth, but Wrobleski got the next two hitters to keep it at 2-1.

Wrobleski came out for the seventh and retired the leadoff hitter before Evan Phillips relieved him and struck out a pair to end the frame.

Scott took over after Phillips got the first out of the eighth. The left-hander struck out Kyle Schwarber and induced an inning-ending flyout by Harper.

After Jonathan Bowlan blanked the Dodgers in the top of the ninth, Bohm greeted Scott with a single in the bottom half. Realmuto followed with a double as pinch runner Crawford advanced to third, setting up the chaotic finish.
