Pete Alonso and Jeff McNeil each had two home runs and three hits, Brett Baty and Francisco Alvarez also went deep, and the New York Mets beat the Colorado Rockies 13-5 in Denver on Sunday.

It was Alonso’s 23rd career multi-homer game, the most in New York history. He now has 243 career home runs, second to Darryl Strawberry’s 252.

Alvarez and Juan Soto had three hits, and Ronny Mauricio contributed a pair of singles for New York, which swept Colorado for the second time in a span of eight days.

Ryan McMahon, Tyler Freeman and Jordan Beck had two hits each for the Rockies. Colorado starter Chase Dollander (2-6) allowed five runs on eight hits over three innings.

Mets starter Tylor Megill (5-4) didn’t allow a hit through four innings while his team built a lead.

McNeil capped a 10-pitch at-bat with a home run to lead off the second inning, and Francisco Alvarez made it 2-0 with an RBI single to center.

New York tacked on more in the third. Soto led off with a single, and Alonso followed the first of his two-run homers to make it 4-0.

McNeil hit his second homer of the game and sixth of the season in the fourth, a three-run shot in the fourth, to extend the lead.

The Rockies managed just two walks off Megill until Sam Hilliard led off the fifth with a double to right field. He scored one out later on Braxton Fulford’s single, Freeman walked, and Beck drove in Fulford with a double.

Megill hit Ryan Ritter to load the bases but got the next two batters to end his day. He allowed two runs on three hits and struck out five.

Baty’s two-run shot in the seventh, his seventh homer of the season, made it an eight-run game, and Hunter Goodman had an RBI single for Colorado in the bottom of the inning.

Alonso hit is 17th home run of the season in the eighth inning, Alvarez hit a solo homer in the ninth, and Beck had an RBI double in the ninth and scored on Ritter’s single to complete the scoring.
