Rafael Devers’ leadoff home run in the bottom of the ninth inning helped the Boston Red Sox come back from five runs down to beat the visiting Atlanta Braves 7-6 on Saturday night.
After Boston’s Aroldis Chapman (3-2) worked around two baserunners to strike out the side in the top half of the ninth, Devers — who finished 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs — clubbed a 2-1 curveball into the right-center field bullpen off Pierce Johnson (1-1) for his first career walk-off homer.
Designated hitter Devers finished 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored as the Red Sox evened the weekend series. Boston scored twice and tallied three hits in both the seventh and eighth innings. Jarren Duran finished with four RBIs, including two on a game-tying single to right with two outs in the eighth.
Matt Olson and Marcell Ozuna hit back-to-back homers in the first and Drake Baldwin added a two-run shot in the third for a 5-0 advantage for Atlanta, which was held scoreless after the fourth against four Red Sox relievers. Boston starter Lucas Giolito allowed six runs over four innings, while Atlanta starter Grant Holmes limited the Red Sox to two runs over six innings.

Twins 7, Brewers 0
Ryan Jeffers and Kody Clemens homered and Pablo Lopez (4-2) tossed six innings of two-hit ball as visiting Minnesota extended their winning streak to 13 games with a 7-0 victory over Milwaukee.
The winning streak is the longest for the Twins since a team-record 15 games in June 1991. It’s the longest single-season winning streak in the majors since Tampa Bay won 13 straight in 2023.
Lopez (4-2) allowed two singles, striking out six and walking two in a dominant 95-pitch outing, as Milwaukee was shut out for the fourth time in five games. Tobias Myers took the loss (1-1), allowing four runs and 11 hits in 3 2/3 innings.
Mets 3, Yankees 2
Francisco Lindor hit a tiebreaking sacrifice fly in the ninth inning and the Mets topped the Yankees to even the three-game Subway Series at Yankee Stadium.
Lindor snapped the tie by hitting a 3-1 pitch to center field. Mets pinch runner Luisangel Acuna scored on the play as Cody Bellinger’s throw to the plate was slightly off target. Closer Edwin Diaz struck out Aaron Judge on a full-count fastball to end a 1-2-3 ninth inning and secure his 10th save.
The Yankees scored their first run of the game in the third when DJ LeMahieu hit his first homer off Mets starter Griffin Canning. Bellinger tied the game at 2 with a home run in the sixth, extending his hitting streak to 12 games. Judge went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts and ended the day with a .402 average.
Blue Jays 2, Tigers 1
Ernie Clement’s walk-off single drove in Daulton Varsho with two outs in the ninth as host Toronto snapped Detroit’s four-game winning streak.
Brenan Hanifee (2-1) gave up Varsho’s one-out double in the ninth. After walking Anthony Santander intentionally with two outs, Clement stroked the game-winning single. Clement walked to lead off the eighth and scored the tying run on Alejandro Kirk’s RBI single.
Spencer Torkelson’s second-inning homer provided Detroit’s run. Tigers starter Reese Olson allowed just one hit and one walk with six strikeouts over six innings. Blue Jays starter Eric Lauer went three innings and gave up three hits and one run while fanning five. Jeff Hoffman (4-2) pitched a scoreless ninth.
Cardinals 1, Royals 0
Miles Mikolas (3-2) pitched six strong innings and Jordan Walker’s sixth-inning homer provided the lone run as visiting St. Louis topped struggling Kansas City 1-0 to win for the 12th time in 13 games.
Walker’s third home run of the year accounted for half of the Cardinals’ hits against three Royals’ pitchers. Starter Noah Cameron (1-1) allowed both hits, but was otherwise sharp, pitching 6 1/3 innings in his second major league outing.
Mikolas allowed just two hits and two walks, while fanning four in six innings. Ryan Helsley earned his ninth save with a perfect ninth inning. Maikel Garcia had the Royals’ lone extra-base hit, his 13th double in the fourth.

White Sox starter Sean Burke (2-5) surrendered six runs (five earned), seven hits and five walks over 4 ? innings. Rookie shortstop Chase Meidroth (3-for-4) led off the game with his first home run while rookie first baseman Tim Elko added his second career homer.
Giants 1, Athletics 0 (10 innings)
Wilmer Flores drew a bases-loaded walk with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, allowing San Francisco to walk off the Athletics.
The RBI was Flores’ 42nd of the season, which leads the majors. Camilo Doval (3-1), who struck out Brent Rooker with runners at first and third and two outs in the top of the 10th, was credited with the win. Mason Miller (0-2), who intentionally walked Mike Yastrzemski to get to Flores, suffered the loss.
Both starting pitchers — the A’s Luis Severino and the Giants’ Landen Roupp — left after six scoreless innings. Each team had five hits, but the Athletics went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position.
Rockies 14, Diamondbacks 12
Jordan Beck blasted two home runs as Colorado overcame a five-run deficit to defeat host Arizona.

Bryan Reynolds hit a two-run homer in the ninth for the Pirates, who have dropped four of their last five games. Reynolds’ sixth home run was the only extra-base hit for Pittsburgh, which finished with four hits. Starter Carmen Mlodzinski (1-4) allowed four runs on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings.

Reds 4, Guardians 1
Will Benson and Rece Hinds each launched solo home runs, while six pitchers combined to throw nine solid innings as host Cincinnati defeated Cleveland.
Brent Suter served as the Reds’ opener, throwing three scoreless innings, followed by Lyon Richardson, who allowed one run across two frames. Luis Mey (1-0) earned the win with a scoreless sixth for Cincinnati, who clinched the three-game series and won its third straight game. Closer Emilio Pagan threw a perfect ninth, recording his 11th save.
Guardians starter Slade Cecconi (0-1) allowed three runs on five hits across five innings, issuing three walks and striking out eight in his first appearance of the season. Daniel Schneemann’s solo home run accounted for the offense. Nolan Jones had two hits for Cleveland, which dropped its third straight.
Nationals 10, Orioles 6
Luis Garcia Jr. drove in three runs as visiting Washington topped beleaguered Baltimore.
Playing just a few hours after announcing that seventh-year boss Brandon Hyde was out as the manager, the Orioles did not see any immediate benefit as they trailed by six runs after the first inning and didn’t score until the seventh. Baltimore lost for the 11th time in 13 games and its offensive struggles mostly continued, although Jackson Holliday’s three-run homer highlighted a four-run ninth.
Nathaniel Lowe and Keibert Ruiz knocked in two runs apiece for the Nationals, who built off Friday night’s 4-3 comeback victory. Starter Jake Irvin (3-1) took a shutout into the seventh inning, posting six strikeouts on his 6 1/3 innings while allowing two runs.
Rangers 5, Astros 1
Joc Peterson and Wyatt Langford hit home runs to back the continued strong pitching of Tyler Mahle as host Texas defeated Houston in Arlington, Texas.
The Rangers won for the seventh time in eight games and have taken two of the first three contests of the four-game set with their Lone Star State rivals. Peterson’s two-run blast in the sixth inning, his second of the season, snapped a 1-1 tie and allowed Mahle (5-1) to win his second straight decision.
Mahle extended his team-record beginning to the season with his 10th consecutive start allowing two runs or fewer. Houston’s Ronel Blanco (3-4) also went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five. Christian Walker had the Astros’ lone RBI.
Mariners 4, Padres 1
Cal Raleigh homered on the first pitch of the seventh inning to snap a tie and Seattle defeated host San Diego.
Raleigh victimized reliever Adrian Morejon (1-2) for his 15th homer to help make a winner of Gabe Speier (2-0), who pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. Closer Andres Munoz induced a grounder from Gavin Sheets to end the eighth with the potential tying run at second, then took care of the ninth for his 14th save in 16 chances.
Sheets gave the Padres a short-lived 1-0 lead in the fourth when he drilled a Hancock changeup an estimated 401 feet to right-center for his sixth homer of the year. San Diego starter Nick Pivetta gave up just two hits and a run in six innings. He walked one and whiffed seven.
