The Washington Nationals placed center fielder Alex Call on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a foot injury, while catcher Drew Millas was recalled from Triple-A Rochester.
Call, 29, was diagnosed with a partial tear of the plantar fascia in his left foot.
In 30 games this season, Call was batting .343 with a .425 on-base percentage and had three home runs with 14 RBIs. Over three career seasons with the Cleveland Guardians (2022) and Nationals, Call is a .231 hitter with 16 home runs and 65 RBIs in 205 games.
Millas, 26, was 5-for-30 (.167) in 11 games for the Nationals over multiple major league stints earlier this season. In 22 career games over the past two seasons, he is 13-for-58 (.224) with two home runs and seven RBIs.
