The Philadelphia Phillies placed left-hander Brad Hand on the 15-day injured list Sunday with left elbow tendinitis.
The designation for the 32-year-old reliever is retroactive to Thursday but means he is out for the regular season.
The Phillies also selected the contract of right-hander Chris Devenski and designated infielder Johan Camargo for assignment.
Hand, a three-time All-Star, is 3-2 with a 2.80 ERA and five saves in 55 appearances out of the bullpen in his first season with Philadelphia.
Devenski, 31, signed with the Phillies on Aug. 29 after going 2-1 with a 7.59 ERA in 10 relief appearances with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Camargo, 28, batted .237 with three homers and 15 RBIs in 52 games this season.
