The Philadelphia Phillies reinstated outfielder Austin Hays from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday.
Hays, 29, landed on the IL on Sept. 5 (retroactive to Sept. 2) because of a kidney infection.
Acquired in a July 26 trade with Baltimore, Hays is batting .254 with one home run and five RBIs in 19 games with Philadelphia.
He is a career .261 hitter with 67 homers and 247 RBIs in 576 games with the Orioles (2017, 2019-24) and Phillies.
The National League East champions optioned outfielder Cal Stevenson to their spring training complex in a related move.
Stevenson, 28, batted .250 with six RBIs in 18 games for the Phillies this season.
