Brandon Nimmo drove in the go-ahead run with a bases-loaded single and Jake Burger added a two-run single in a three-run 10th inning to lead the Texas Rangers over the Los Angeles Angels 4-1 on Monday night in Anaheim, Calif.

In the opener of a four-game series, Elias Diaz went 2-for-5 with an RBI and Nimmo also had two hits for Texas, which won for the first time in four games at Angel Stadium this season.

Peyton Gray (6-0) tossed a 1-2-3 ninth and All-Star Jacob Latz pitched a hitless 10th for his 23rd save. The Rangers, who remained a half-game out of first place in the American League West, won for the fifth time in six games.

Mike Trout hit a home run, the 424th of his career, moving into a tie for 54th on the all-time list with Edwin Encarnacion, and also walked three times. Vaughn Grissom had two hits for Los Angeles, which lost its third straight game.

Luke Murphy (0-1) allowed three runs (two earned) in one-third of an inning of relief. Starter Reid Detmers gave up just one run on three hits and four walks over six innings with six strikeouts but remained winless at home this season.

Los Angeles took a 1-0 lead in the first when Trout drilled his 20th homer, a 418-foot drive to left-center. It was Trout’s 49th career home run against the Rangers and notched his 11th 20-homer campaign.

Texas tied it in the fourth when Ezequiel Duran led off with a check-swing single to right, advanced to third on a single by Nimmo and scored on a two-out single to left by Diaz.

The Rangers nearly took a 4-1 lead in the seventh but Wade Meckler reached above the wall in right to rob Corey Seager of a three-run home run.

Texas loaded the bases with no outs to open the 10th on a walk to Wyatt Langford and a single by Seager, sending automatic runner Nicky Lopez to third. After Duran popped out, Nimmo lined a single to right to drive in Lopez, then Burger followed with a single to right to drive in Langford and Seager.
