In need of offense, the Colorado Rockies are set to call up top outfield prospect Jordan Beck in advance of their series opener on the road against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday, multiple outlets reported.
Beck, 23, was a first-round draft pick (No. 38 overall) by the Rockies in 2022 and is now set to make his major league debut. He was batting .307 with a .999 OPS in 25 games at Triple-A Albuquerque, hitting five home runs with 28 RBIs.
According to the Denver Gazette, the Rockies are expected to place outfielder Nolan Jones on the injured list with a back issue.
Colorado was 20th in the major leagues with a .376 slugging percentage, heading into Monday’s MLB play, and 27th with 22 home runs.
The Rockies are just 3-11 since April 13 and have yet to win consecutive games this season.
