Riley Greene hit his 30th homer, a two-run shot, and the host Detroit Tigers rallied past the Kansas City Royals 7-5 on Friday.

Zach McKinstry supplied a solo homer, triple and single, while Gleyber Torres contributed two hits, two runs scored and an RBI as Detroit won its fourth straight and 10th of its last 12.

Tigers starter Casey Mize gave up three runs and nine hits in 5 2/3 innings. Kyle Finnegan (3-4) collected the win with two innings of scoreless relief.

Vinnie Pasquantino tied a Kansas City record by homering for his fifth straight game, a two-run shot in the ninth, while Salvador Perez added two RBIs. Royals starter Ryan Bergert allowed two runs and three hits in 5 2/3 innings.

Consecutive singles by Kyle Isbel, Mike Yastrzemski and Bobby Witt Jr. produced the first Royals run in the third. Perez ripped a two-out double to bring in Witt and Maikel Garcia.

The Tigers got on the board in the third when McKinstry jumped on a Bergert fastball and drove it over the left-center field wall. McKinstry extended his career high to 11 homers this season.

McKinstry had a two-out triple in the fifth but Javier Baez popped out to leave him stranded.

Detroit rallied to tie it in the sixth. Torres lined a one-out single and Bergert was removed with two out.

Angel Zerpa replaced him and promptly gave up a homer on a 1-2 slider to Greene. He also gave up singles to Spencer Torkelson and Wenceel Perez before John Schreiber replaced him. Dillon Dingler flied out to end the inning.

Detroit took the lead for good with a four-run seventh against Bailey Falter (7-7). McKinstry led off with a single and moved to third on a Baez single. Right fielder Randal Grichuk’s throwing error on the hit allowed McKinstry to score and Baez to advance to third.

Pinch hitter Andy Ibanez knocked in Baez with a single and Torres brought home Ibanez with a double to left. Wenceel Perez ripped a single as his helmet fell off to bring in Torres.
