The Colorado Rockies acquired right-hander Connor Seabold from the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Seabold was designated for assignment by Boston last week to make room on the roster for Corey Kluber.
Seabold, who turns 27 next week, has appeared in six major league games in two seasons for the Red Sox, going 0-4 with a 10.55 ERA in 21 1/3 innings. He has 19 strikeouts against 10 walks allowed.
Seabold is 12-5 with a 3.39 ERA in 30 games (all starts) at Triple-A Worcester during that same stretch.
