Minnesota Twins returned right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the injured list to start Wednesday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Woods Richardson was placed on the 15-day injured list on Aug. 4 with an illness.
He allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits in 5 1/3 innings in two appearances with Triple-A St. Paul.
Woods Richardson, 24, is 5-4 with a 4.24 ERA in 17 appearances (16 starts) with the Twins this season. In four seasons with Minnesota, he is 10-10 with a 4.30 ERA in 47 career appearances (45 starts).
To make room for Woods Richardson on the 26-man roster, the Twins optioned right-hander Pierson Ohl to St. Paul.
Ohl, 25, made his major league debut against the Boston Red Sox on July 29. He posted a 0-3 record with a 5.66 ERA in seven games this season.
