The Chicago White Sox recalled right-hander Nick Nastrini from Triple-A Charlotte to start Thursday’s game against the Texas Rangers and optioned left-hander Sammy Peralta to Triple-A.
Nastrini, 24, made his major league debut April 15 and went 0-5 with an 8.39 ERA in six starts for the White Sox earlier this season. He was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers last season in the deal that sent right-handers Joe Kelly and Lance Lynn to L.A.
Peralta, 26, has a 5.40 ERA in nine relief appearances for the White Sox this season.
Chicago also optioned Matt Foster to Charlotte after the right-hander held the Rangers scoreless over two innings in his second 2024 appearance Wednesday. He was Chicago’s extra player in a doubleheader.
