The Chicago White Sox placed Danny Mendick on the 10-day injured list Saturday and recalled fellow infielder Bryan Ramos from Double-A Birmingham.
Lower back tightness is responsible for the move involving Mendick, retroactive to Thursday.
Mendick, 30, is batting .256 with one homer and three RBIs in 10 games since being called up from Triple-A Charlotte.
He is a career .243 hitter with 12 homers and 52 RBIs in 194 games with the White Sox (2019-22, present) and New York Mets (2023).
Ramos, 22, has yet to make his major league debut. He is hitting .182 with five doubles, two homers and 11 RBIs in 24 games with the Barons this season.
