The New York Yankees on Friday signed right-hander Cody Poteet to a one-year contract for 2024.
Poteet, 29, has 19 games of major league experience, all with the Miami Marlins in 2021 and 2022.
He has a 2-4 record with a 4.45 ERA, 53 strikeouts and 27 walks in 58 2/3 innings, including nine starts.
After Tommy John surgery, Poteet made just one minor league appearance in 2023 while in the Kansas City Royals’ system.
The San Diego native and UCLA product was a fourth-round draft pick by the Marlins in 2015.
