Austin FC and free agent goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland reached agreement on a two-year guaranteed contract through 2025 with an option for 2026.
The club announced the deal on Sunday but didn’t release financial terms.
An Ohio native, Cleveland has started 29 MLS games with Chicago Fire FC (2017-19) and Seattle Sounders FC (2020-23).
“We’re happy to add someone of Stefan’s caliber to the talented group of goalkeepers on our roster,” Austin FC sporting director Rodolfo Borrell said in a news release. “He’ll be a very strong addition to our Club, and our community, and we look forward to welcoming him to Austin.”
Cleveland, 29, recorded MLS career highs in starts (15), minutes played (1,350), shutouts (three) and saves (29) in 2021.
