Austin FC signed defender Brendan Hines-Ike to a contract extension through 2025 on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old center back’s deal includes an option for the 2026 MLS campaign.
“Brendan adapted quickly to the group upon arriving in Austin and became a key part of our defense,” sporting director Rodolfo Borrell said in a release. “We are happy to have him returning next year.”
Hines-Ike contributed two goals and one assist in 28 matches (25 starts) in his first season with Austin.
He spent the previous three seasons (2021-23) with D.C. United, posting one goal and one assist in 45 matches. Before that, Hines-Ike played professionally in Belgium and Sweden.
