Austin FC announced a new three-year contract with midfielder Diego Fagundez on Wednesday.
Terms of the deal, which includes an option for 2026, were not disclosed.
Fagundez, 27, joined Austin ahead of the franchise’s inaugural 2021 season after a decade with New England.
“Having been with Austin FC since the beginning, I couldn’t be prouder of how far this Club has come in its first two years,” Fagundez said. “I’m thrilled to stay here and sign a new contract, and want to thank my family, teammates, coaches, and the incredible fanbase for all their support. This place has become like home and I’m confident that this team and community will achieve great things together.”
Fagundez has 13 goals and 20 assists in 67 MLS matches (62 starts) with Austin. He has 66 goals and 65 assists in 328 games (248 starts) with Austin and the Revolution (2011-20).
